Our Teacher Support is made possible thanks to generous donations from our members & the local UP community in partnership with Union Park School’s administration.

Teacher Supports include:
– UPPTSA annual membership gift drive to benefit teachers & staff
– 100% of proceeds from silent auctions each Fall go directly to each grade and are available for use at each grade level’s teachers’ discretion throughout the school year.
– Spring school supply restock
– Fall & Spring Conference Week(s) appreciation projects
– National Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week celebration

– Team Toro Copy Center

UPPTSA Annual Membership Gift Drive
Each school year, the UPPTSA strives for 100% of UP’s teachers & staff to join us as members – they put the “T” in PTSA! (Teacher & Staff memberships are just $5/year and are available for purchase HERE. They’re a wonderful back-to-school gift!)

Why do we want 100% staff membership? We love our teachers and staff, but that’s not the only reason!

UPPTSA Grant Program
All teachers and staff members are eligible to apply for grants of $75/member/semester each school year that they are members of the UPPTSA. That’s up to $75 in the fall AND up to $75 in the spring! This optional members-only program facilitates project-specific requests. This is above and beyond the other teacher supports available throughout the school year, which are provided to all regardless of membership status.

The UPPTSA Grant Committee reviews all applications each semester. By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, over $9,700 in grants have been awarded directly back into Union Park’s classrooms.

What have grants been used for?
– Class pet & plant care
– Class libraries & class sets of books
– Flipcharts, easels, & document cameras
– Workbooks, worksheets, games, & puzzles – in English & Spanish
– Games that promote Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
– Science experiment equipment
– Robotics kits
– Musical instruments, accessories, & sheet music
– Art supplies & art room equipment
– Flexible seating, area rugs, & pillows
– …and so much more!

The possibilities are endless – we are in awe of our dedicated, imaginative, AMAZING Teachers & Staff. They work so hard to make learning fun and easy, in new and exciting ways each semester at Union Park School. The UP PTSA is honored to support their efforts.

Team Toro Copy Center
UPPTSA members (that have completed DVUSD Volunteer Training) volunteer throughout the year to laminate, copy, staple, cut, & sort materials. The Team Toro Copy Center is available for any teacher/staff at Union Park School who submit projects. This free service provided over 100 hours of volunteer support in its inaugural year! We are thrilled to say thank you to our teachers and staff in this unique way.
